Amicalola EMC customers participating in the program only pay an average of $6 a year through rounding up their bills, but these small contributions can add up to help organizations like Wee Books. Funding for these books is provided through private donations, business gifts and grants.Īmicalola EMC’s Operation Round Up program allows customers to elect to “round up” their electric bill each month to the nearest dollar, and this extra money is used to support local nonprofits like Dawson County Wee Books. Each month, the nonprofit provides over 700 books to children in Dawson County. Children from birth to five years old who are signed up with the program receive a free, age appropriate book mailed to them each month.
